Setting up Apple Watch
Open the Runwiv app on your iPhone, go to Settings → Apple Watch, and follow the pairing steps. Make sure the Runwiv Watch app is installed from the Watch App Store. Once paired, your watch will show live pace, heart rate, and distance during runs.
Tap the + button in the app and choose "Squad Run". Set your start time, then share the invite link with your friends. They tap the link and land straight in the lobby — no searching required. Everyone sees a countdown and starts together.
From any live session or lobby, tap "Share" to get a link. Send it via iMessage, WhatsApp, or anywhere else. Friends with the app jump straight in; friends without the app can watch you live in a browser — no account needed to spectate.
When you host a run, Runwiv generates a spectator link. Anyone who opens that link in a browser can see your live position on a map, your pace, and milestones — without installing the app. They can also send you Hype Bombs to cheer you on.
Go to Settings → Strava in the app and tap "Connect". You'll be taken to Strava's screen to grant permission — make sure you tap "Authorise" on that screen. Once connected, your Runwiv sessions automatically sync to Strava after each run.
To join a club, search by name or city in the Discover tab and tap "Join". To create a club, go to the Clubs tab and tap "Create Club" — you'll be set up as the club admin with a 60-day free trial of Club OS tools included.
Runwiv Pro and Club OS subscriptions are billed through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). To cancel, go to your phone's subscription settings and cancel from there — you keep access until the end of your billing period. For billing questions, email us.
To permanently delete your account and all associated data, email support@runwiv.com with the subject "Delete my account". We process deletion requests within 30 days. Your run history, routes, and club memberships will be removed.
Joining a run with a code
If someone shares a 6-character room code with you (for Arcade games or squad runs), open the app and tap "Join with code" on the home screen. Enter the code and you'll drop straight into their session. You can also open a join link directly from any message app.
If runs aren't appearing in Strava, try disconnecting and reconnecting your Strava account in app settings. Make sure you tap "Authorise" (not "Cancel") when the Strava permission screen appears. If the issue continues, email us with your username and we'll investigate.
Listen to your favorite playlists right from Runwiv without switching apps. Go to Settings → Music Services and link your Spotify Premium or Apple Music account. You'll see playback controls directly on your run HUD.
Privacy & Visibility
You control who sees your location. By default, your live location is only shared with the specific people you invite to a squad run. If you use a spectator link, only people with the link can see you. Configure default privacy zones in Settings → Privacy.
Battery optimization
Running a marathon? Turn on "Endurance Mode" in Settings before you start. It slightly reduces GPS polling frequency and dims the screen to ensure your phone and watch make it through the finish line.
Audio cues & Hype
Runwiv will read out your pace and distance at every kilometer or mile. It also announces when a supporter sends a Hype Bomb. You can customize which audio cues you hear or turn them off completely in Settings → Audio.
Importing custom routes
Got a favorite running path? Head to the Routes tab and tap "Import GPX" to load paths from apps like Strava, Komoot, or Garmin. You can then use this route for squad runs to ensure everyone stays on track.
