Runwiv sends location and session updates from an active run to a browser spectator view. The runner shares a session link or code. Supporters open it to follow progress while the run is happening. Try the demo to see the interface without a live runner.
Check location permission, battery and mobile connectivity. Open the link on a second device before setting off, and agree who should receive it. A location feed needs data coverage and can pause or arrive late when a device loses its connection.
A family member can follow a long run from home. A club can give supporters context around a shared session. On race day, use the organiser’s official results for timing and placings; a GPS spectator map is a view of a runner’s progress.
A live map reveals where a runner is. Send the link to trusted people, check session sharing controls and end sharing after the run. Live tracking is not an emergency response service and cannot guarantee a continuous location fix.

No. Update timing depends on GPS, device settings and network coverage. A delayed marker does not establish what has happened to the runner.
